Why this site exists
I run retail technology for a living: point of sale, inventory and stock systems, RFID, store hardware, and the vendor relationships that hold it all together. This site is where I write down what I learn about making that work across a large fleet of stores.
The store is the hardest edge of the retail stack. In one location a new device or application is a small experiment. Across hundreds of stores, every decision multiplies in cost, risk, and operational drag. Most writing about retail tech ignores that reality. I want to take it seriously.
Expect notes on store hardware, applications, rollouts, and the gap between what a vendor demo promises and what survives contact with a real store on a busy Saturday.
Everything here is my personal opinion, written in my own time. It does not represent any employer, and nothing on this site is confidential vendor or company information.
